Parent Handbook – O
When you ring or visit our school office you are most likely to be greeted by Mrs Boyce (Office Administrator) or Mrs Smith (Finance Clerk). Mrs Boyce and Mrs Smith both have individual duties but each is an excellent person to talk to as a first point of contact at Grange Farm.
The school office is officially open between 8:30am and 4:30pm (aside from a one hour lunch break) each day that the children are in school. During these hours a member of staff will almost always be available to speak to you although there are times staff can be very busy and we ask for your patience during these periods. There are also times that staff may be working outside of these hours but it should not be assumed that this will be the case on any particular day. If you are ever unable to get in touch, you can leave messages on the school answer phone or via email and we will always get back to you as quickly as we can.
Operation Encompass is a joint project being run between West Midlands Police and schools across the area.
Operation Encompass is about the police reporting to schools, prior to 9am of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to or involved in an incident of domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass will ensure that a trained member of school staff (known as the key adult – the headteacher in the case of Grange Farm) is trained to allow them to liaise with the police. We will then be able to use any information that has been shared, in confidence, to make provision for potential difficulties experienced by children or their families who have been exposed to or involved in a challenging incident.
