New Reception Admissions

Welcome to Grange Farm Primary’s New Reception Admissions information. We know that starting school is an important milestone for both children and parents, and we are here to make the process clear, supportive, and straightforward. Our team is committed to helping your child feel safe, valued, and ready to learn from day one.

We are looking forward to your child joining our school community. This exciting transition is carefully planned, with a focus on settling in at a comfortable pace and building confidence through friendly routines and positive relationships. From early conversations to first days in class, we aim to ensure every child experiences a warm welcome.

It is often helpful to show young children photos to help them get an idea for what to expect when they start. We have put together a slideshow of images of Reception indoor and outdoor areas and of some key parts of the school site. We hope this helps to alleviate any worries they might have.

New Reception Admissions Photos

If you have received a notice from Primary Admissions that your child has a place to join us next September, please rest assured that we will be in touch to discuss transition arrangements.

Transition usually involves:

• A new parent meeting in mid June
• A stay and play session in late June for parents and children to attend
• Transition visits for children only in July
• Home visits in September

We aim for all children to start in our reception classes in the second week of September as we are aware that a prompt start is most appropriate for the majority of children. If you feel this is not appropriate for your child then a staged start may be something we can discuss. 

In the early Summer Term, we are arranging visits with all nursery provisions that our children will join us from so that we can get to know your child and prepare accordingly. If your child has Special Educational Needs, please feel free to reach out to our inclusion team on senco@grangefarm.coventry.sch.uk to discuss their needs further.
